New York City has been besieged off and on with mysterious smells that no one has yet been able to identify.  This past January the City was assaulted with a gaslike odor.  Back in October of 2005, Manhatten smelled like breakfast with another mysterious odor of maple syrup in the air.  Gawker has capitalized on this City of Odd Fragrances by creating a NYC Subway Smell Map.  Smells are categorized into the ten delectable categories consisting of: alcohol, body odor, feces, food, chemicals, mold and wet, perfumes, sewage, urine and  vomit.  The Google Mashup allows users to navigate their mouse of the map.  A popup over each station lists the name of the station, what subways lines are at that station, and the accompanying symbols to show what smells pervade each stop.
